New Caricom Youth Ambassadors Announced

Ashley Lashley and Shakeem Howell are the new Barbados CARICOM Youth Ambassadors.

Ashley Lashley, is a youth advocate who has a wide focus on social development issues particularly as it relates to health, the environment, children and women’s rights. Miss Lashley started her journey in 2015 with the establishment of The Schools Against Non- Communicable Diseases when she was sixteen (16) years old. She has also chaired committees on these issues and worked with many NGOs and Community Based Organizations in Barbados and the region.

Mr. Shakeem Howell is a young professional, who is passionate about youth and social advocacy and is the Leader of Opposition Business of The Barbados National Youth Parliament with eleven years of Public Communications and seven years of debating experience.

He discovered his voice and love for advocacy as a student leader championing for the right of his colleagues when he addressed the forum at UN House for series of Activate Talks on issues being faces by students in Barbados and the wider Caribbean became a member of UN Activate Talks.

Let’s congratulate Ashley and Shakeem for this achievement. The two will serve from April 2023 to July 2024.
