Sandy Lane Gold Cup 2025 Arrives

The 2025 Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup has arrived.

The coveted trophy touched down on Thursday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. at the Grantley Adams International Airport on board BA Flight 2155.

The flight was safely piloted by Captain Julian Marshall, accompanied by two first officers, James Green and Matthew Malley.

It was received by Sandy Lane’s General Manager, James Matthews, President of the Barbados Turf Club, Rawle Batson and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Mrs. Joy Adamson.

This year will be the 42nd running of the region’s most prestigious horse race which is set for the Garrison Savannah on Saturday March 1st, 2025.

Nine horses from Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago will be contesting the event at the Garrison Savannah on Saturday March 1st, 2025.
